Wildlife Photography
THROUGH MY LENS
I combine technical expertise, creative vision, and a deep understanding of wildlife to capture authentic moments and tell the stories of the natural world.
My connection to the ocean began in the Netherlands, where I grew up immersed in the sea and surrounding landscapes, developing an early passion for windsurfing, sailing, and photography. That curiosity led me to study as a Marine Biology Specialist at the University of Oxford.
After 25 years working in the dental field, my wife Rentia and I took a leap and bought a whale watching company on Vancouver Island, B.C. — a decision that brought marine biology, photography, and conservation together for good.
Today, I work as a Marine Biologist Specialist at Eagle Eye Adventures, camera in hand on every tour. When I'm not guiding, you'll find me along the west coast of Vancouver Island or exploring the inlets of the Inside Passage. As an Accredited Professional Photographer, I bring both technical skill and a biologist's understanding of behavior and habitat to every shot.
My hope is simple: that my imagery inspires others to care for the natural world by sharing the beauty and grandeur of the animals and landscapes I'm privileged to witness.
